Donor Car & Watsons Subframe Kit
We purchased a rather knackered MOT failure Rover Metro GTi 16v for all of �75, unfortunately it is only a single-point fuel injection model which means we will lose around 10bhp on a multi-point, but for 75 quid you can't argue!
The engine on this is in very good condition, it starts on the button, even when left standing for a few months, so it should be good to go when the Mini is ready to accept it.
To fit this engine into a Mini there are certain modifications needed to the subframe to accept the K series, there are two ways to do this, either modify the Mini frame to take it, or modify a metro frame to fit a Mini. We chose the latter, but rather than do all the work our selves we purchased a ready modified frame and kit from Watson's Rally (details in links section). Pics of both can be seen below.
